Today’s Running

So today I was able to run the whole time again. I found that my feet hurt only for the first lap or two. I found that it didn’t really get easy until I realized I was only 4-5 laps from being done. Then it wasn’t easier just… easier to keep going I guess.

So I found that I was doing 12:00-12:30 pace miles, which isn’t especially fast, but you have to figure that if I go faster, I don’t know myself well enough to know if I’m going to be able to keep running after running faster. So I kept up the 12:00-12:30 per mile pace until I was 3 laps (or .375 miles) from the end, and then I ran as fast as I could. I finished in 37:30.

So now that I’ve done the 3.1 without walking, I can go longer. And then faster on the 3.1. And then faster on the longer. But first I have to believe that I can do it, so I don’t give up when it’s something I should be able to do.

At about lap 17 I might have ran a lap that I wasn’t sure if I ran or not, so I had to not count it, because I would rather run one extra than one too little, so I may have run 26 laps, I don’t know for sure.

This is the end of what, I guess my 3rd week? I really need to start running long runs on the weekend, it’s an important part of my training. I plan to do this Sunday morning as Lela has a YW 5 mile hike with the girls as they get ready for camp.
